Overview Edit
If your kids are like mine they're very excited when they get to play a game with the pyramids. In my house this game is really the reward of holding pyramids while playing a word game with parents.
Setup Edit
Place one pyramid of each available color in the opaque bag or box.
Each Round Edit
- New Rule An adult chooses a secret rule. Use any rule you think the kids would enjoy. Example rules I have used:
- The statement must rhyme.
- The choice must match the first sound of the drawn color.
- Draw Each player blindly draws a pyramid at random.
- Round Each player in turn says "I have <this color> and I like <something>." If the <something> they name matches the rule they win a point, otherwise they don't. The points are not tracked: they are only for immediate feedback.
- Guessing A player who has won the point a few times or looks excitedly like they've figured out the rule may be asked to guess the rule.
Winning Edit
There is no winning. Keep playing while everyone is still having fun. The point is to have fun while exploring relationships between spoken words.
