== Number of Pyramids ==
One of the most useful methods to sort games is by how many pyramids they require to play. The most basic unit of pyramids is a "Trio" (one pyramid of each size, all of the same color). With the advent of the [[Pyramid Arcade]], most new games are likely to measure pyramids in Trios. However, historically, games have been be divided into two broad groups: those requiring five-color "sets" (5 Trios, each of a different color) and those needing full, monochrome "stashes" (5 Trios, all of the ''same'' color). Most of the games on the wiki use one of these older terms. In nearly all cases, 5 multi-color sets and 5 monochrome stashes are interchangeable terms.

Notes:
:<nowiki>*</nowiki> you can play all single stash games with one multi-color set but not vise-vice versa
:<nowiki>**</nowiki> the [[Pyramid Arcade]] contains the equivalent of Three Multi-color sets in BOTH the "Rainbow" and "Xeno" colors (i.e. 3 Trios in all 10 main colors)
