This is a hand-made wooden storage box with four parts. It was made by Wolfgang Zelller in 2010.

All four tops + all four bottoms shown
The two stacking shelves with separator walls can each can hold 7 trios of 6 colors.
All four parts stacked up with a 4x4 playing board on top
All tops arranged to create an 8x8 chessboard. The board is set up for Pikemen.

The storage solution was specifically designed for Looney Pyramids. The light wood and airbrushed-white squares were chosen to show off the transparent pyramids' colors.
Each box bottom measures 18.7cm square.
Each box top measures 20cm square.
Mr. Zelller posted a DIY guide if you want to make a pyramid storage box like his.
