Talk:Black ICE
Add topicBlack ICE is far and away my daughter's favorite pyramid game. She keeps insisting that we make it harder. In our most recent games, we have been playing with five key colors (red, blue, yellow, green, and pink), a four-"digit" key, and only two Treehouse dice! I thought that might make it unwinnable, but both she and I proceeded to win games of that variant. --Carthoris 03:34, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
Interesting, as I only got to play this for the first time recently and thought that it was fun enough as it is, but that it could use a little more of something. It's good to hear that adding the extra keys worked out. --nihilvor 08:08, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, I understand that the 3HOUSE stipulation was a crucial design ingredient of this game for marketing purposes, but the basic principles can evidently be extended pretty far. Working with standard monochrome stashes means running out of pyramids after a fifth key element; a single Treehouse die would make it tediously slow; and more than six colors doesn't seem to add much in principle (it just makes it a little less likely that a DIG would leave a code color unchanged). But up to those points, it all seems quite playable. --Carthoris 13:52, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
