The Starship Captain Tin was discovered by Andy Looney, who posted about it on October 28, 2015 on Wunderland. The flat cylindrical tin could hold 12 pyramids with room for a few dice, and was available for years at the Container Store as item #10054293. Its official retail name was the "8 oz. Shallow Seamless Tin." It was silver in color and measured 4" W × 1.125" H. These containers were, in 2015, sold for less than $2 apiece. It was common practice for an owner of such a tin to place a Starship Captain sticker on the lid after filling it with a set of 12 trios. However, the Container Store has since discontinued this item.
