John Cooper is the designer of Zarcana and IceTraders. He co-designed Icehouse with Andrew Looney and Zagami with Kory Heath. John "directed" the development of Gnostica and Homeworlds (see The Four Process, Core Four). John is one half of the co-operative entity known as "Ginohn" (the first half is his wife, Gina). He has long been known by his alias "Dr. Cool," under which he writes the introductions to the Hypothermia newsletter.

John's website has many articles about his Icehouse game designs, and other games he has developed.
