Equipment
Each player needs a full stash (five pieces of each size, in a single color). The board is a six-by-six grid with three spaces removed from each corner.
Set-Up
Form nests using the small and large of one color and the medium of the opposing color. Place the nests on the starting spaces shown in the diagram.
Objective
You win by forming a tree in your color. There may not be any other pieces of either color under or on top of your tree.
Play
On your turn, you can move any piece, as long as it is larger than any pieces stacked on top of it. Those pieces will be carried along with it.
A large moves one or two spaces diagonally. A medium moves one or two spaces orthogonally. A small moves in an L, like a knight in chess, jumping over pieces if necessary.
You can land on any piece of either color, but you cannot make a move that would result in a stack of more than four pieces.
Calling for a Small
A small is considered unreleased if it has not moved from its starting space and is underneath an opposing medium. If you have more unreleased smalls than your opponent, and there are at least two pieces he could move that would release one of them, you can require him to do so on his turn.
